A few things to say this time as I haven't posted this week. Firstly I do have to just say that MoPiZo was, like many peeps very sad to hear of the passing of the legend that was Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin this week, and like to think he's running around up there chasing dinosaurs or something. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
OK back to the more trivial things we normally talk about... The Mercury Music Prize judges broke with the habit of a lifetime, and actually gave it to the bookies favourite, and most commercially successful of the nominees- the hugely overrated Arctic Monkeys. I do have to give them credit though for giving the prizemoney to charity though- it's not like they needed it.
One of the other big stories round here lately was that Sony's Playstation 3 has had it's European launch put back to March next year. Tied with the £425(!) price tag some are already claiming Sony's dominance of the Console Market is doomed. I think this is probably a wee bit premature, as at the last count everybody on the planet had at least 7 PS2's and new consoles can take a while to get going. How do I feel about this news? I'm not in the least bit bothered as it's only a week until I can find out how long I have to wait until I get my hands on my next console (Nintendo's very exciting but stupidly named Wii) and how much I'll have to pay. I know one thing though. It won't be more than 400 quid... in fact it's going to almostdefinitelyy be less than half that. Come Christmas I think there will be a lot of Wiis under the Christmas tree.
