I am special. I know this, because today I went and saw a special exclusive preview of Dreamworks latest CG 'toon Over The Hedge. Except it's not really that special or exclusive, when it's on almost every screen in the land, available only to those who... er.. buy a ticket. This cheeky marketing ploy by the studios has been going on for ages, but it's got worse recently. Many films now have 'special previews' the day before the 'official release'. Why not just admit that films are now released on thursdays? To make us feel 'special'? Or maybe it's because they can get away with barring any discount tickets, beacuse it's a 'special' screening?

OK rant over. The film is absolute corker, up there with the very best of the recent crop of CG flicks. There's great performances by the likes of Bruce Willis, William Shatner and Omid Djalili. Enough in fact for me to overlook the fact that Avril Lavigne is in it. It gets an official MPZ recommendation!
