2005 and all that…

It’s been without doubt the most successful year in the history of the site. It’s probably fair to point out it is also only the second year in the history of the site (and technically its started part way through) but lets not split hairs. Either way the fact is that in November more people visited the site than in the whole of the entire first year of it’s history, and that sounds pretty impressive, no? Then December looks set to beat that figure by some margin. The future looks bright, but we’re here to look back….

New material was pretty scarce for the first six months of the year or so. However I still finally found time to make what was originally intended to be the last two episodes of Suburban Ninja (episode five and six). Stanley will be returning in the new year, in a new streamlined form. It also saw the first appearance of what would become the most popular flash on the site Happy Bunny, and the last instalment of Trailer Trash to date (more are planned). We also welcomed the marvellous voice-man William ‘Woodgie’ Hunter who added his talents to Big Brother and our Christmas special animation.

Small World became Back to the Drawing Board but kept the off the wall sense of humour you know and love.

A small selection of some of my fave cartoons from the last year…

Let us not forget this was also the year we finally went interactive. Starting with the simple dress up game Pimp my Pirate, hours of fun was had by all! Fun is perhaps not how I’d describe the actual making of the much more advanced Disco Monkey Funk-Off. The final result however was well received, even if people found it a mite challenging. It was a big step up though, unlike PMP I couldn’t just cut and paste code from a tutorial- I had to work it all out myself. I hope you think my grafting paid off.

In Just a matter of days Monkey Pirate Zombie will re-launch with a new front page, logo and site design. Fingers and everything else crossed I don’t cock everything up! Hope to see you then! In the mean time why not leave me a message?
